Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
The Ruby-Throated Hummingbird (Archilochus colubris) is the most common hummingbird in the Eastern United States. Its preferred habitat includes gardens, orchards, parks, and forest edges. In the winter, they migrate south to the tropics or to the Southeastern United States. They are small, measuring about 3.75 inches in length and about 0.11 ounces in weight. While the male has an iridescent ruby throat and the female has a streaked light throat, the female has more brightly golden-green plumage on its back. The Ruby-Throated Hummingbird's bill is black, long (about 2 cm), straight, and thin. They hover over flowers in order to feed on nectar. Besides nectar, they occasionally feed on small arthropods. They are solitary and not social, except during mating season. They are territorial and aggressive to other hummingbirds. The male species of hummingbirds are generally more brightly colored than the female, making them easier to identify. Predators include hawk, merlin, kestrel, kite,...
